Winter Art Show 2012

The Edgemont Elementary 2012 Winter Art show was a success. It has been my goal to have two artworks for each child. With 575 students in the school, that would be 1,150 pieces of art to put up. I was able to put up two for each but first grade and kindergarten. I had a good variety of projects and was very impressed with the students.

Kindergarten: Practicing writing their names with a Capital followed by lower case (part of their new standards). This was mixed with learning about Warm and Cool colors and pattern.

First Grade: Paper Line Sculptures

Third Grade: Recyclebots

Fourth Grade: Petroglyphs (Ancient Rock Carvings) It's similar to sandpaper.

Second Grade: Geometric Paper Cities - learning about 3D shapes
Fourth Grade: Pinch Pots
Fifth Grade: Personal Narrative Books - Using art to enhance writing via storyboarding and illustration. The students even created the books using a simplified book binding process.
Sixth Grade: Egyptian Death Masks
Third Grade: Moons
Fifth Grade: Earthwork Artwork (as seen here)
Sixth Grade: Graffiti or Street Art (As seen here)
